What can you expect when you visit our clinic?
Our clinic located in Óbuda at Vörösvári út 107.
We are open every day of the week from 10am till 8pm.
There is no need to book an appointment, you may come in at any time, our doctors treat in order of arrival.
Due to the nature of our service, we cannot offer exact appointment times, so you may be asked to wait before seeing a physician. Your wait time depends on the number of patients before you and the severity of their problems, we thank you in advance for your patience.
At arrival you can register at our reception.
- After this you will be met by one of our attentive nurses as soon as possible for an initial assessment. They will offer you pain-, fever relief medications, an ice pack, a temporary cast and wound care (as needed) for the duration of your wait.
- As soon as it’s your turn you will be called into the doctors o
FONTOS: Our doctors call in patients in order of their arrival, HOWEVER if we deem that someone’s condition requires care more urgently then they will be called in earlier, regardless of when they arrived. Behívás érkezési sorrendben történik, DE amennyiben valaki megítélésünk szerint hamarabb igényel ellátást, akkor őt érkezésétől függetlenül előre vesszük
After registration you may choose to wait in our waiting area, outside, or if you arrived by car then you may also choose to wait there. As soon as it’s your turn to see the doctor, you will be notified.
Due to the Covid pandemic you can book an appointment by telephoning our clinic.
IMPORTANT: The goal of booking an appointment is to help us distribute our patient consults evenly during the day, to avoid our clinic becoming overcrowded, and to minimise the wait time.
We can only provide appointments for the current day.
The UC Clinic
In the UC clinic we provide urgent care (acute care). Urgent care medicine is one of the primary types of care, which has developed in the last 20-25 years, accommodating to the modern, hectic lifestyle of our patients.
Urgent care clinics do not house doctors of different specialties like ophthalmologists, ear-nose-throat doctors, dermatologists, surgeons or internal medicine doctors. They instead provide care through skilled doctors who have experience working in urgent care medicine, and are able to diagnose and treat most minor problems that don’t require hospital-level care from each specialty.
Doctors working in urgent-care have an emergency-medicine oriented view, this means two things:
- When presented with the patient’s problem the first thing we always do is rule out any possible dangerous or life threatening conditions.
If they are unable to do this with the diagnostic tools available in our UC clinic, for example: blood test, CT scan, then they will refer you to the hospital’s emergency department, and help organise your care there.
- Secondly our doctors know their diagnostic and therapeutic competency limits, and will know when it is necessary to refer their patients to specialists, for any further interventions or treatments.
It’s Monday morning and you fell while walking on the street. You can’t put any weight on your rapidly swelling ankle, and you are in pain.Should you head to the Emergency Department (Sürgősségi) or Urgent Care?
If you’ve been in a similar situation and wondered which option is better, you are not alone. Many people are confused about when to use it.
Here are a few differences between Emergency Departments and Urgent Care clinics:
Severity of health problems
An Emergency Department treats life- or limb-threatening health conditions in people of all ages. It is the best option when you require immediate medical attention. There are no private emergency care services in Hungary.
Urgent Care is the middle ground between your primary care provider and the Emergency Department. If you have a minor illness or injury that can’t wait until tomorrow, Urgent Care is the way to go. Also, it is a good option if you have illnesses or injuries without other symptoms, or if you do not have other underlying health conditions. For example, an earache can easily be treated in Urgent Care. However, if it is accompanied by a high fever (104 degrees Fahrenheit 39 Celsius or higher), or you have a history of cancer or are on immune-suppressing medication, it is important to have it checked out in the Emergency Department.
Hours and staff
Emergency Departments are staffed 24/7 with physicians, nurses and trained in delivering emergency care. The team has quick access to expert providers in advanced specialties such as Cardiology, Neurology and Orthopedics. Emergency Departments also have the imaging and laboratory resources needed to diagnose and deliver care for severe and life-threatening situations.
Typically, Urgent Care clinics are staffed with physician trained in providing care for non-life threatening conditions and injuries.Urgent Care providers can order basic labs and imaging tests, such as X-rays, to help them provide diagnoses and develop treatment plans. Urgent Care clinics have set hours and an established list of conditions treated. As a result, Urgent Care clinics have shorter wait times than Emergency Departments.
Here are examples of types of conditions treated in Urgent Care clinics and Emergency Departments:
-
Urgent Care clinic:
- Back or muscle pain
- Bronchitis
- Cuts and minor burns
- Diarrhea
- Earache
- Skin conditions
- Sprains or joint pain
- Upper respiratory infection
- Urinary tract infections
- Vomiting
-
Emergency Department:
- Chest pain or pressure
- Compound fracture (bone that protrudes through the skin)
- Head injuries
- Pneumonia
- Seizures
- Severe abdominal pain
- Shortness of breath
- Sudden, severe headache, or paralysis or weakness
- Uncontrolled bleeding
Always call 112 and don’t drive yourself to the Emergency Department if you are having difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, a life or limb injury, or signs of stroke or heart attack.
